About the author:
Mr. Wang Xinjun is
managing director of Ivy Alliance Tourism Consulting Co., Ltd. As one of the four core drafters, he was invited by China National Tourism
Administration (CNTA) to take part in the amendment and revise of three
important tourism regulations and laws, among which two ones are related to
outbound tourism. (2006.9-Now) Earlier before this ,he was assistant president of China Comfort Travel
Group Co., Ltd (CCT) , which is one of the largest tour groups in China.
When in CCT, he was mainly responsible for F.I.T, the group development
intelligence, external cooperation programming and implementation, branch
company (more than 100 all over China) management and coordination between
the group and government departments and international organizations, etc.
During 2001-2004, Mr. Wang Xinjun also took the position of general manager
of Comfort Network Technology Company. As secretary-general of the organizing committee of International Forum on
Chinese Outbound Tourism (IFCOT), he successfully planned and organized the
first International Forum on Chinese Outbound Tourism (IFCOT 2003, Shenzhen
China), the Second International Forum on Chinese Outbound Tourism (IFCOT
2005, Beijing China) and the Third International Forum on Chinese Outbound
Tourism (IFCOT 2007, Beijing China). The forum, with the highest quality in
China’s tourism industry, achieved worldwide echo. As distinguished speaker,
Mr. Wang Xinjun has been invited to give presence on several international
conferences such as Annual European Chinese Travel Assembly (Jan. 2004 Köln
Germany), China Travel Distribution(Aug. 2005, Shanghai; Aug. 2006,
Beijing), China-Greece Tourism Cooperation (Mar.2006, Athens Greece), etc.,
in which his speech drew passionate applause. In the August of 2005, Mr.
Wang Xinjun was consigned by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) to
organize the “FAM Trip of Chinese Tour Operators and Travel Writers” to
review the Tsunami affected area in Thailand, which got complete success
too.
From 1995 to 2001, Mr. Wang Xinjun was working in the Department of Industry
Management of CNTA where he was responsible for the management of travel
services and outbound tourism business whole the country. He is the major
drafter of China outbound tourism policies and regulations during the
period. At the same time, he took part in the negotiations between CNTA and
other countries for Approved Destination Status (ADS) and conducted Chinese
tour operators to organize travelers to visit these ADS countries. Mr. Wang
Xinjun has been competent for the management of tour guides and outbound
tour leaders all around the country, the creation of general outline and the
test paper of the national test for outbound tour leaders. Meantime, he
joined the practical training held by UNWTO for the officials of member
countries in 1999, Madrid. Mr. Wang Xinjun is with great fame and influence
in China’s tourism industry, especially in outbound tourism.
From 1992 to 1994, Mr. Wang Xinjun once worked in Hainan Huitong
International Trust Company, Hainan Huatong International Travel Services
and Hainan Ivy Investment Consulting Co., Ltd and his main work in these
companies is tourism projects programming, investment analyzing and tourism
market researching.
With the combined background of government, corporation and academe, Mr.
Wang Xinjun is well-known in the tourism industry for outstanding
achievement in intelligence consulting and outbound tourism. To be a
qualified expert in tourism industry, Mr. Wang Xinjun successively took part
in many very important projects. He is one of the juries for the Eleventh
“Five-year” Tourism Development Plan of CNTA, one of the experts who drafted
the criterion of water scenic spots for Ministry of Water Resources P.R.C,
one of the experts who studied Travel Services Development Research which is
conducted by China Association of Travel Services. As expert in outbound
travel research, Mr. Wang Xinjun has written many influential theses and
research papers such as The Current Situation and Characteristics of China’s
Outbound Tourism Market .etc and published a series of books like The Work
and Training Handbook for Outbound Tour Leader which have been appointed to
be the textbook for the training and examine of outbound tour leaders whole
the country.
Mr. Wang Xinjun got his doctor degree in Peking University in 1995. He is
the third doctor degree winner in China whose major is tourism development.
