Born of the collaboration of Yu Sun and Roy Graff, Great Eastern Studio is a unique venue dedicated to raising the level of knowledge and awareness among business people and professionals of how to negotiate, communicate and work with Chinese counterparts.
Great Eastern Studio presents a year-long series of workshops and seminars held in the evenings delivering highly personalised, focused content. The ‘China Insider’ program features monthly evening workshops on cultural communication and business etiquette to prepare for business meetings, negotiations and deal making with Chinese. Bi-monthly forums on specific sectors in China provide inside information and expert practical advise to understand current themes and trends in China’s unprecedented development.
All workshops are limited to 25 people to provide intimate and personal attention to each participant.
Workshops feature expert speakers on the selected topics. Each event provides networking opportunities for delegates and access to further study and training resources. Yu Sun, Managing Director of Orient Business Consulting, is a cross-cultural trainer with a particular focus on Anglo-Chinese communications in business. Previously working with Shanghai government as a project manager, she has worked on many international projects between China and Britain. Yu provides a deep insight into the business processes of Chinese and what lies behind them. Roy Graff, Managing Director of ChinaContact, has made his career in travel and tourism business development with a strong emphasis on China. He has a deep understanding of China’s culture and business practices from academia, public and private sector work. He lived and worked in China’s two most vibrant cities, Shanghai and Beijing. Roy brings a unique prespective to the program as a fluent Mandarin speaker with practical experience of building business in China. To formaly open the centre, Great Eastern Studio will hold a launch party on 5th February 2008 featuring prominent experts on China.
